SKYWARD's official roleplay rules
❝
What's a roleplay without it's rules, right? Please make sure to read through all of these so that you understand them properly. If you have any questions or concerns about any particular rules, please do not hesitate to ask any of the staff members! Of course, these rules can change at any time for any reason, so make sure that you keep updated on any changes!
Now, enough of my rambling.
OUT OF CHARACTER RULES
→ have common sense.
Remember, there is a difference between OOC moments and IC moments. Do not let whatever happened in-character warp your perception of the player out of character. Likewise, the opposite also stands; do not let your out of character feelings reflect the actions of any in-character situation. There is a fine line.
→ be respectful.
The use of any racist, homophobic, sexist, or otherwise inappropriate and offensive words will not be tolerated here. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Additionally, keep this in mind when you are just joking around with friends; you two might have a darker sense of humor, but others may not. Keep it to DMs.
→ be mature.
If you have an issue, please bring it to the staff's attention rather than having a breakdown. We are a PG-13 roleplay and members are expected to act accordingly. Do not take your anger or frustration out in public channels. There are staff and members alike who are willing to talk out your problems and to help you find a solution.
→ don't intrude.
When you're exploring the map, please keep it to your own territory when others are on. You don't want to intrude in on a roleplay or interrupt others as they play. You're free to explore the entire map when you're on your own.
→ be appropriate.
We get that some of you are adults, but not everyone else is! We are a PG-13 roleplay, but that does not mean that any talk of sensitive topics is permitted. Do not use any racist, sexist, or homophobic remarks, and do not use racial slurs. If you and a friend have a darker sense of humor, that's fine; but just keep it to DMs. Others may be uncomfortable with what you say. Additionally, there will be absolutely no talk of religion or politics in our servers.
→ no clan-hopping.
All members are free to change their character's clans, major or minor, before the official opening. However, once you are in a clan, you are expected to stay there for the entirety of your character's life, with the exception of in-character plotlines that may occur. Your major clan must have your top priority, and you must remember to be active in your minor clan as well.
→ be literate.
We're a literate roleplay, yet we accept members of varying writing talents and styles. Members are welcome to come in rusty or less experienced and improve their skills while here! However, be sure to write in third-person point of view, as well as maintaining proper punctuation and grammar. This is pretty self explanatory.
→ no one is a god.
If you have any concerns with the way any member, staff or otherwise, is behaving, please contact eijiro or @keratoga immediately. Staff members are held accountable for their actions and will not be given special treatment from anyone just because of their rank; do not be scared to call them out if they are breaking our rules!
Additionally, we like to pride ourselves on being an inclusive, friendly, and welcoming roleplay. Do not form cliques or otherwise exclude others. Do not idolize members, especially those who are staff, and remember to treat everyone equally. We're all in this together!
IN CHARACTER RULES
→ naming
Here at Skyward, we don't want to restrict your creativity. While we like to be on the more lenient side with names, it does have to be within reason and have a legitimate reasoning behind it, regardless if it is a prefix or suffix. If you are having issues, you are free to take a look at our custom prefix and suffix list with 800+ names!
→ aging
Aging is always a bit hard to keep track of, but be sure that you are aging your character correctly. You character must grow old at some point, and keeping them the same age for weeks, whether you mean to or not, can cause issues with your character and plotting. More on this in our character rules!
→ character and clan amount
As a member of Skyward, you are permitted to have three characters right off the bat! Please remember, however, that you may only have one major clan and one minor clan; meaning that two of these characters must go to your major clan, and one may go to your minor clan. If this causes an issue for you, please message eijiro .
The amount of characters you are able to play at once is also determined by the activity you maintain. If you play each of your characters consistently and develop them, you're all good! However, if you neglect one character or one minor clan, you will be addressed by a leader or staff member regarding it.
→ forbidden love
Everyone loves a good forbidden love plot. However, they get tiring very quickly when there are so many of them. As such, all clans are permitted to have only one forbidden romance at a time. Keep in mind that roleplaying such plots will earn your characters punishment and other negative setbacks in-character and be aware of these consequences.
→ be realistic
If you character is wounded in a fight, or eats poisoned food, they will be harmed. Do not forget that the actions of your character will lead to consequences such as injuries, illness, in-character punishment, and more. Your character cannot be invulnerable or otherwise immune to any negative setbacks. If they ask for trouble, they will get it.
→ fighting
Never auto-hit, powerplay, god mod, or dodge constantly. This is unrealistic in nature; additionally, you are never allowed to control another character. Your character is not invincible or almighty. They may be a wonderful fighter in-character, but that doesn't mean they win every battle or come out unscathed.
Always get permission from any participating member(s) before starting or joining a fight. Fights themselves must be approved by both leaders involved.
You can only dodge up to three times in a row before getting hit; this is pretty standard in roleplays. Be sure that your attack moves are realistic and acceptable, as well; no killing or Dark Forest moves unless you have been given explicit permission from the other person's character, their leader, and a staff member. Also, if your character does kill someone, remember that there might be repercussions in-character. There will be no blood-loving, thrill-killing, stereotypical "unstable" cats in this roleplay.
→ apprentices and kits
Apprentices must have mentors; a clan cannot accept any new apprentices unless there are warriors or a medicine cat available to take them on. Additionally, kits must have biological parents or be adopted by a queen who can nurse them if they are young enough. Mentorless apprentices and parentless kits are not allowed.
On that note, mentors MUST train their apprentices in-character for a minimum of ten training sessions to ensure that they are creating a realistic roleplaying environment and that, in-character, the apprentice is prepared to become a warrior. If you are an apprentice and your mentor fails to train your properly, please contact eijiro or @keratoga.
